For a more livable downtown

"It's easier to order on the internet", "I try on in a store and order online...", "I get delivery and return if the size doesn't fit",
"We can't get around in town anymore", "It's ungovernable..."

How many times have we heard these (bad) reasons for not shopping in town anymore? And at the same time, to often regretfully give up this simple pleasure of strolling, choosing, getting advice and buying in a physical store in the city center....

Curious isn't it? Indeed 75% of French people prefer to shop In Real Life(Opinionway study for Quantaflow and FACT - Sept 22) and 74% say that physical stores are more convenient to make their purchases than the Internet. So where is the problem?

Our history

How was IzzyTown born?

It all starts in 2021. Anne has been a retailer in Lyon for many years and has made the following observation:
The development of e-commerce (accelerated by the closure of non-essential stores during the health crisis) and the restrictions on car traffic in the hypercenters of many cities in France are accelerating the transformation of physical commerce. In this context, what is the future for physical stores in city centers? How to support them and help them keep their customers? How to bring back those who have already adopted new shopping habits?
In short, how can we boost the commercial attractiveness of the heart of our cities?

Passionate about local commerce and convinced of the urgency to act, Anne and Eric joined forces to combine their complementary expertise and created IzzyTown in May 2022.
Their philosophy is simple: Innovate through service and recreate links to boost the downtown economic ecosystem. In other words, it's about making downtown commerce more fun, dynamic and easy to live with thanks to a little technology embedded in our smartphones.

It's decided: IzzyTown will reinvent the way we shop in downtown areas.

Decarbonized delivery
of non-food purchases

With the progressive pedestrianization of public space and the upcoming implementation of the ZFE, we need to rethink the way shoppers (we are all shoppers) do their shopping in the city center: often on foot, by bike, or by public transportation...And therefore very often burdened with one or more bags to carry while shopping, walking in the city, or going back to the office, or going home ....

What is the "hands-free" shopping proposed by IzzyTown?

  • A service now possible thanks to an intuitive and secure mobile application
  • Secure purchases throughout the process and same-day delivery in 90% of cases in a carbon-free manner
  • Creative merchants who use attractive new tools to make their customers' lives easier
  • An easier and more accessible city that gives everyone a new sense of freedom

Decarbonized collection of cardboard and plastic films

As we listened to retailers, we realized that we could also simplify their lives by solving their cardboard and plastic waste management obligations. This service is integrated by IzzyTown which takes care of everything. Retailers can focus on the essentials and benefit from a virtuous collection, from their store to the recycling point.

  • D+1 collection carried out only by electric cargo bikes by salaried couriers
  • Immediate benefit of reducing the number of cumbersome and often polluting trucks in the city center (reduction of CO2 impact, noise and traffic in the city)
  • Measuring recyclability and waste treatment soon available for each store

Inspiring Journeys
for Downtown Customers

The vitality of the city center depends on the creativity of its actors.
Our dearest wish is to (re)vitalize physical commerce, whatever it may be: independent stores, chain stores, restaurants, hotels, services, cultural venues...
How can we do this? By linking all these different actors together, because a business can only function properly if the environment around it (cafés, restaurants, cinemas, etc.) is also dynamic. The success and attractiveness of some secures the development of others.

Our objectives are clear:

  • To reorganize all the economic and cultural actors in the downtown area, for a more collaborative and better connected city
  • Provide tools to merchants (including services, restaurants, etc.) to promote their visibility and develop their commercial attractiveness
  • Revitalize downtown businesses by enabling them to build customer loyalty through new tools to compete with e-commerce and suburban outlets
